  • A partner directory is hard to keep current when people leave their posts
  • Military families living off base can be isolated and short of information, and trust builds best face to face
  • Families leaving the forces need to know about civilian support before they leave base
  • Some local churches and community spaces are open to hosting partners

We did

  • In progressBuilding the online hub (this website) with a resources folder, meeting dates and an opt-in partner directory.
  • In progressWorking with the county's Armed Forces Covenant Officer on the next stage of work with military families living off base.

Lincoln City North gathering

Thursday 17 September 2026, St Giles Jubilee Halls, Lamb Gardens, Lincoln · 24 partners came

You said

  • Some people go unseen: children with a parent in prison, military families living off base, people who keep returning to A&E, and homeowners who assume they can't get help
  • Front-line teams need to know what local groups exist so they can signpost people
  • People who help others, staff and volunteers, often have no support themselves
  • Partners need local groups and activities to connect isolated people into

We did

  • DoneShared the notes, contact list, updates folder and event flyers after the gathering, so partners can reach each other directly.
  • DoneBrought the needs and priorities partners have shaped since January back to the room at the October gathering.
  • DoneMade military families living off base a focus at the October gathering, with a table discussion to shape the next stage of work.

Lincoln City North gathering

Thursday 18 June 2026, St Giles Jubilee Halls, Lamb Gardens, Lincoln · 23 partners came

You said

  • Too many people say "I never knew this was available"
  • Some wards have little community provision: make better use of spaces that already exist
  • Build more peer-led groups that don't rely on services, and more support for people who can't leave home
  • Transport is a barrier, so bring services closer to where people live
  • Make volunteering and job opportunities easier to find

We did

  • DoneTurned the table work into four shared priorities for Lincoln North and presented them back at the October gathering.
  • DoneIntroduced Age UK Lincolnshire to St Peter in Eastgate. Age UK's monthly Link-Up sessions began there on 20 October.
  • In progressExploring free, funded peer support training for local residents with Shine Lincolnshire, aiming for a first peer-led group in Lincoln North.

Joint Lincoln City North and South gathering

Thursday 21 May 2026, St Giles Jubilee Halls, Lamb Gardens, Lincoln

You said

  • We want to be a trusted network where there's no wrong door
  • WhatsApp is good for quick sharing, but not everyone has a work phone and messages can pile up
  • Keep phone numbers private and agree clear ground rules from the start
  • Keep email for people who prefer it
  • The knowledge hub should include services for under-18s

We did

  • DoneAsked every board how partners want to stay connected. 24 partners replied over the summer, and 21 of them said a shared online space would help.
  • DoneChanged the plan to match: any WhatsApp space will be optional and use usernames so phone numbers stay private, with an email update for anyone who can't or won't join.

Joint Lincoln City and North gathering

Wednesday 29 April 2026, Bridge Central, Portland Street, Lincoln · 40 partners came

You said

  • There is a lot of shared knowledge in the room, and room for more impact beyond it
  • Partners want a hub to find each other and share news between gatherings
  • Work as equals, in plain language, with clear goals

We did

  • DoneTurned the table feedback into draft statements of who we are and what we do, and brought them back to the May gathering.
  • DoneShowed partners a test website and feedback form at the June gathering.
